Multifandom | I almost wish we were butterflies

Я доделала клип, который у меня мариновался с зимы. Погода за окном подтолкнула меня к нужному настроению.
Идея была сделать клип про любовь и показать, какой разной она может быть: между женщинами, между мужчинами, между мужчинами и женщинами, между детьми. Хотелось ещё включить побольше не белых героев, но среди костюмированных фильмов сложно найти их. На создание меня вдохновила композиция из фильма "Яркая звезда" где Бен Уишоу и Эбби Корниш, которые играли Джона Китса и Фанни Браун зачитывают письма друг к другу. Мне очень понравилась эта композиция, потому что она одновременно отражает будничную повседневность любви и отношений и с другой стороны показывает возвышенность, которую мы ощущаем.

Gryffindors don’t give a shit about rules. The most hardline of them don’t even care about people. They care about justice. Right or wrong, black or white, there are no shades of grey. If it’s just, it’s always just; if it’s unjust, it’s always wrong. Hermione’s ruthlessness makes her a Gryffindor. She is absolutely sure that she is on the side of justice in everything that she does, and it’s such a Gryffindor trait.

Because Slytherins are ruthless, but they care about rules. Their own rules, usually, but rules nonetheless. They will impose parameters and limitations on themselves just so they have a framework to operate within. If doing something means violating their own internal code, then they’re not gonna do it. Even fucking Voldemort is like that. He broke every single fucking rule the Wizarding World ever put in place, but damn if he’d break his own.

And Ravenclaws? They hate rules. Fucking things just get in the way. They prevent creativity and keep people from accomplishing their goals. Ravenclaws are probably some of the most dangerous people in the entirety of the book series, because they’re brilliant and creative and ambitious and prideful, and when they snap, they do not have inhibitions. They will wreck everything that ever had the nerve to get in their way, and they will never once feel bad about it.

And then there’s Hufflepuffs. They emphasize equality. If the playing field is equal, then all other good things will come from there. People hear that, and they think that Hufflepuffs are pushovers. They cast them as the shy ones, the fearful ones, the insecure ones. Really, they’re none of these things. They are nice, accepting, friendly, this is all true, but they are also entirely willing to fight anyone that steps up to the plate talking shit. Hufflepuffs will defend themselves and other people until they drop dead, and it’s infuriating to see that only ever attributed to Gryffindors. Because the big difference is that a Gryffindor believes in acceptable causalties, and a Hufflepuff will knock your teeth down your fucking throat for even suggesting such a disgusting idea. For Hufflepuffs, there are no acceptable casualties; any loss of life is utterly unacceptable.

There are a lot of people that talk about House stereotyping, and then turn around and perpetuate further stereotypes. Gryffindors are not necessarily knights in shining armor; Slytherins are not necessarily callous villains; Ravenclaws are much more than just intelligent, and Hufflepuff is not the motherfucking potato House.

Let’s talk about Tony Stark

Let’s talk about how he’s not like Captain America and Thor who are soldiers/warriors who’ve fought in countless battles and are used to the horrors of war.

Let’s talk about how he’s not like Clint or Natasha who have specific skill sets and are trained to not bat an eye to anything weird but to simply roll along with it. Let’s talk about how they know the best ways to defend themselves, the quickest way to kill their opponents and get the job done.

Let’s talk about Bruce Banner who despises the Hulk yet can’t do anything about this ‘monster’ who protects him. Let’s talk about he is invulnerable, unable to die, and a force at par with “gods”.

Let’s talk about how Tony Stark is none of these. How the only way he can protect himself is through what his mind creates. Let’s talk about the cons of being a genius - that is being unable to control your thousand thoughts a minute mind, and being very susceptible to mental disorders.

Let’s talk about how in line with his mental vulnerability, he is also physically vulnerable i.e a civilian.

Let’s talk about how civilians don’t have special training, don’t know how to effectively kill or incapacitate, and are therefore in a vulnerable position.

Let’s talk about how civilians protect themselves in the event that they are untrained: science. After all, isn’t that what arms races have been about? To protect oneself from a rival by making sure your technology is more deadlier than theirs?

So let’s talk about how Tony Stark was a weapons manufacturer who was kidnapped and thoroughly tortured.

Let’s talk about Iron Man: a suit of armour meant to protect himself from being vulnerable, from being tortured.

Tony being a super hero is a side-effect. Tony using the suit to save other people developed from his own personal experiences (such as saving the people of Gulmirah because of the doctor).

But essentially, at its very core, Iron Man was meant to be a defensive weapon, a cocoon for Tony.

Why are Tony and the suit ‘one’? Because the suit was specifically designed for Tony’s needs.

All his life Tony has made weapons for other people. Those weapons were offensive, and he didn’t know nor care how they were used. He simply had ideas and brought them into fruition.

But the Iron Man suit was built to protect him. It’s tailored to his specific needs. It’s customised only for him to understand. The suit is essentially his ‘safety blanket’. He’s territorial and possessive about it.

The reason he doesn’t want the government to get their hands on the suit is his. It was borne as a result of the troubles he went through, the suit has his ‘mark’ on it. Not his surname, but everything Tony is the suit is too.

Let’s talk about how Tony never gets out of his suit.

Let’s talk about how he and the suit are so intertwined that it becomes his obsession, he cannot live without it. It always has to be in his reach.

We saw that in the suitcase armour in Monaco. He didn’t take the suit with him because he wanted to fight crime and protect people - he took the suit as his bodyguard, to protect him in the case he was kidnapped again.

So once again we can see that the suit is a defensive weapon.

The only time Tony voluntarily took the suit off in face of a threat was in Avengers, but even then he did it because he was in his own tower that was built to cater to his needs.

He had Jarvis, and he had his bracelet armour. He was a wolf in sheep’s skin and knew that he had a card up his sleeve, that he was in no way vulnerable or defenceless.

Let’s talk about the wormhole. Let’s talk about how his fears on a scale of one to ten suddenly jumped from 3 to 11.

This was nothing he had ever seen nor faced. Tony is not a soldier not a warrior like Steve or Thor, and this was his first war.

A war against aliens.

A war which was difficult to fight against because he had no idea if his weapons would be effective against them.

And when he went into the wormhole, and saw legions and legions of Chitauri armies still waiting to be unleashed, his fear of being kidnapped seemed like child’s play.

And then he woke up.

Why did it scare Tony so much?

Because he knew that the six avengers were not enough to deal with an innumerable army.

Because he knew that even with their individual strengths and powers, they were still weak against an alien force whose cavalry seemed to be invincible.

Let’s not forget Tony is a weapons manufacturer. The suit was built to protect him, and in light of a veritable army, it failed.

Which leads to Iron Man 3.

To deal with the threat of an alien invasion, Tony stepped his game up. He injected, quite literally, the armour within himself and connected it to his mind so he would always, always be protected.

He created an army of his own to match an alien one and upgraded it every day. Because he knew that six avengers were not enough to deal with the unknown.

This continued into Age of Ultron where he created and upgraded his artificial intelligence system so that there could be a ‘suit of armour around the world’.

Tony is still afraid of threats, he is still distrustful of the ability of the avengers and the governments to protect the earth from outside forces. The only person he can count on is himself, so he sets out trying to wrap the world in a cocoon via robots.

And Tony gets a lot of flack for it, even though this is exactly how “civilians” respond to such situations. We create armies and navies to protect ourselves from threats, we always upgrade our technologies to deal with the threats of our time and Tony perfectly encapsulates that.

And that is the reason why he will be pro-registration in Civil War.

As a civilian, always on the lookout for threats, he needs to be able to properly identify those threats so he can figure out a way to deal with them.

And here is why Civil War is considered a continuation of The Winter Soldier: the political and humanitarian theme remains, and is only going to get more complex.

Civil War is going to be amazing not because of its star-studded cast, but because of the controversy it’s going to induce in choosing a side.

This movie will raise one question: Will you support Steve Rogers who believes that war/conflict is inevitable and is not worth sacrificing individual freedom and liberties or will you stand behind Tony Stark who encapsulates humanity’s fear of a foreign threat and the willingness to do whatever it takes to protect oneself from it?

что, на мой взгляд, многие упускают, что люди достаточно лояльно относятся к отклонениям от социально принятой нормы. лишь бы это отклонение было оправдано, подтверждено какой-нибудь болезненной историей (как же без болезненных историй) и выставлено на всеобщее обозрение.

история должна легитимировать, быть доступным и всегда открытым мемориалом для тех, кто решит полюбопытствовать.

так, тебе 25? а где же твои дети? в чем твоя история? сексуальный абьюз, плохие отношения в семье, выкидыш, аборт? может, ты лесбиянка? как это ты просто не хочешь детей?

или, например, почему ты не в отношениях с кем-нибудь? наверное, у тебя глубокая травма? вагина неправильной формы? может, у тебя даже нет вагины?! почему ты не хочешь рассказать об этом, ведь я просто спрашиваю.

ты идешь учиться на инженерку? наверняка, твой папа хотел мальчика! или ты пытаешься завести жениха? или у тебя дислексия и ты не смогла сдать ЕГЭ по русскому? в чем твоя проблема?

меня изумляет уверенность людей, которые требуют выдать им историю о том, почему я говорю о себе в мужском роде, почему я феминист++ка, почему я крашусь (ведь ты говоришь о себе в мужском роде!), почему я ношу вот такую одежду, а такую не ношу - и так до бесконечности.

ты не можешь просто быть. тебе надо постоянно воспроизводить какой-то нарратив, который будет доказывать твое право на существование перед другими.

Все эти новые материалы по ЗВ, хлынувшие одним потоком на меня, как-то выбили из строя и впечатлили. От создания павильонов для сцен до вырезанных кадров. Надо было как-то собрать себя и так вышел Кайло.
Я его как-то грубовато снизу обрезала, но думаю такая геометрия здесь подойдёт.

О, я как раз на днях вопрошала у мироздания, покажут/расскажут ли нам в ЗВ-франшизе или за кулисами о сути конфликта Рена с родителями, и - вот - уже кое-что. Со слов Абрамса:
They (Han and Leia) had this kid who was born equal parts good and evil. He is someone who is broken….But it’s more than just having a bad seed as a kid. Snoke had targeted this kid, knew that this kid was gonna be incredibly powerful in the force and wanted him as an ally. So this mother and father had a target for a son. Someone was watching their boy. And these parents aren’t there enough to guide him.

Kylo Ren is someone who is broken. There’s nothing more powerful than genetics. If you really think the stakes of him in his youth having all those powers and having your parents be absent during that process, with their own agendas equally as selfish. He’s lost in the world that he was raised in and feels that he was abandoned by the people he’s closest with. He’s angry because of that and he has a huge grudge on his shoulders.

P.S. лол, а теперь вот представляю все это с точки зрения Рена. Он кое-как выплыл, затусил со Сноуком, натренировался, НАЛАДИЛ СВОЮ ЖИЗНЬ (ок, это смешно, но с его точки зрения так оно наверняка и есть), у него есть цель, новое имя, орден рыцарей, его место на Финализаторе и так далее, он почти победил этот самый Свет, короче, все кое-как пришло в равновесие, хотя и хрупкое, осталось всего ничего - добить Люка и двигаться к господству Первого Ордена. И тут! xd Мало того, что все планы путает беглый штурмовик (вина хакса), так еще на горизонте появляется какая-то малолетка с силой (раздражающая, потому что она противостоит Рену, не пережив никаких терзаний/соблазнов/тренировок, но довольно эффективно), и, главное, та-дам! - этой малолетке и штурмовику помогает его отец, который - по мнению Рена - когда-то его "покинул", не помог и все в этом. Занавес. И еще все удивляются, почему Рен такой истеричный xd

Acoustic trauma

Сцена, которая напугала меня во втором сезоне Сорвиголовы больше всего. На фоне комикскной фантазийной арки, этот момент был очень жизненным и осязаемым. Наверное, это самое ужасное, оказаться в полной тьме: без слуха и без зрения. Это как погрузиться в доисторический хаос, когда не было ничего. И хоть тема физической уязвимости довольно часто раскрывается в геройских фильмах, на фоне остальных вариантов, случай Мэтта кажется самым страшным для меня. Причём, меня так это испугало, что я весь последующий сезон ждала, что вот сейчас слух подведёт его в какой-нибудь самой важной битве. Но, спасибо создателям, они этого не сделали.
И ещё, то, что эту сцену сняли в полной тишине усилило ощущение изоляции от мира, которое испытал Мэтт.





when frank shot him in the head it obviously messed with his other senses, therefore making his radar sense go blind as well, that’s why he kept banging his hands on the wall to try to make any sound. being in that state was probably like being in complete darkness and silence without any perception of the surroundings, thats why he sat down with his back against the wall.. it’s one of the most terrifying things i can think of, that scene broke my heart
