На меня вчера снизошло по Рейвекнло и я пошла копаться в разных тумблер блогах тематических. Нашла много инетересного. Во первых, в них неоднократно подчёркивается, что в Рейвенкло учатся только самые умные и ботаны - это клише. Самое главное свойство - это тяга к знаниям и постоянное любопытство. А так же, подчёркивается, что не стоит забывать, что intellegence имеет разные оттенки и оно заключается не только в количестве запоминаемой информации. Я посчитала это важным вставить сюда в пост, потому что заметила такую неуверенность в тех, кто был определён тестом на факультет.

I’m worried that I’m not smart enough

I just want to take a second to point out that the ravenclaw motto specifically says “wit beyond measure”

not knowledge. not intelligence. not intellect. wit.

sharpness of mind. the ability to process quickly and inventively. learning for the sake of growing, not for the sake of being smart.

ravenclaws are not necessarily book smart and are likely the kind of people who only do half their homework because they were busy reenacting Chopped with the hufflepuffs and making excellent puns and “yeah professor i know i didn’t but look at this actual flying bird i charmed out of toothpicks from the great hall and also jessie’s shoe lace”

“I’ve been sorted into ravenclaw but I’m worried that I’m not smart enough!”

If there’s one thing I’d like people to take from this blog it’s the fact that you don’t have to be academically intelligent to be in ravenclaw.

Firstly, ravenclaws admire knowledge and strive to pursue it. This doesn’t necessarily mean they actually are smart. And secondly, intelligence comes in lots of different forms which is why ravenclaw places such a large emphasis on creativity and individuality.

So what if your average grade is a B? Maybe you’re an incredibly talented artist, maybe you’re a skilled musician, maybe you love exploring other cultures, maybe you’d rather spend your time learning about things that actually interest you rather than the mundane topics covered in school. Intelligence doesn’t just have one form and ravenclaws admire originality so much more than being able to memorise passages of text and spew them out in an exam

Ravenclaw is about so much more than grades; it’s about acceptance, inspiration, and ingenuity, so don’t ever feel like you wouldn’t fit in based on some letters on a page.

There are so many other things that define you.

Okay real talk slytherin/ravenclaw is like the ultimate power couple you put them together and they’re unstoppable and here’s why

-slytherins tend to stick to the status quo so having a ravenclaw in the mix helps them to branch out and find more innovative ways of achieving their goals
-ravenclaws are often big time procrastinators but slytherins get shit done and won’t stand for any slacking so the ravenclaws will actually follow through with their ideas for once
-both houses put a lot of emphasis on learning so the two will be able to bounce ideas off each other and encourage new ways of thinking
-the same goes for humour. I think slytherins and ravenclaws have a similar sense of humour in that it tends to be quite dry and witty so they enjoy hanging out
-the kind of friends that would go on a road trip with a checklist and would actually only end up getting half of it done but every time they do something not on the list they’d add it anyway just so they can get the satisfaction of crossing it off
-they’d have 2 am chats about bringing down the government
ravenclaws begging their slytherin friends to let them redecorate their common room because ‘it’s so dark and murky and creepy and how do you live in these conditions??’
-‘fuck off it’s classy af’
-slytherins would volunteer to be the friend ravenclaws use as their test subject providing they get taught any new spells the ravenclaw invents
-‘study sessions’ more like ‘hey you’re on track for an O in transfiguration. I’ll do your drawing of a centaur if you finish this essay for me.”

-Getting extremely excited when people start to talk about space
-“DiD yOu SaY sPaCe?!”
-Having the best ever conversations with other Ravenclaws at 3am
-Getting frustrated at the eagle knocker when you cant figure out the riddle.
-“Why is a raven like a writing desk”
-“I don’t know! Can’t you just let me in it’s been like an hour!”
-Listening to 90′s muggle music in the common room
-Decorating the common room with art and poems etc that house mates have made
the common room being so beautifully original and obscure that everyone just smiles when they enter it
-Having play readings in the common room where someone chooses and play and you all just sit and read for different characters
secret drinking games on Saturday nights
-Laughing whenever someone mentions how ravenclaw are the “goodie two shoes” of all the houses because you haven’t handed homework in for at least a month
-Being able to get away with a lot and using that to your advantage
-Going up to the tower after a long night and finding a group of first years who can’t get into the common room
-“Don’t even tell me the fucking riddle, I have been in the library for four hours and I am so fucking tired so just open the fucking door”
-*Door slowly sings open the eagle knocker staying silent*
-Being the second loudest table after Gryffindor
-Not even caring about house points
-Karaoke in the common room
-Watching old disney movies in the common room while pure-bloods gather round in awe at how cute Bambi is
-Using pens because if you are going to experience running out of goddamned quill ink again you are going to scream
-Ravenclaw PRIDE

и помнишь ты говорила что собираешься прочитать книги о гп? еще я бы ооочень рекомендовала бы почитать "гарри поттер и методы рационального мышления" www.fanfics.me/read.php?id=40982 - но это скорее после всего гп читать, там очень точно указаны все косяки логики роулинг и хоть это фик и под конец он окончательно скатывается в пейринг, но я читала его весь день и из-за него чуть не запорола подготовку к одному экзамену

Как fellow Ravenclaw благодарю за пост Люблю мир поттерианы за пространство для хедканонов. Особенно когда они дают возможность понять, что факультеты - это не чисто "храбрый, умный, добрый, злой", и в Рейвенкло вовсе не ботаники сидят %)
Насчет загадок-паролей нравится этот пост еще.

вот это 100 %. у меня так всю школу и универ было. пока все решают задачки на уроке, я придумывают новый сюжет для рисунка у себя в тетрадке. если надо сделать какое-то задание, то я по всей вероятности делаю что-то более интересное мне, чем само задание.

Ооо! Его уже перевели. Мне наверное ещё год назад, когда он только появился, все советовали. Я тогда ещё печалилась, что не могу почитать, потому что книг не читала. Спасибо за ссылку, я к ней вернусь обязательно)

дааа. когда начинаешь копаться во всяких цитатах из книг и хэдканонах, то открывается более обширная палитра характеристик. так и тянет в них покопаться)

and it’s a lesson for the first years on teamwork and it also calms their nerves because they see that even the prefect doesn’t always know the answer
это так трогательно и классно и правильно чисто психологически. мне нравится такой хэдканон) он именно про уверенность в себе и про team work.
