У Уилла Грэма нет синдрома Аспергера. Это подтвердил Фуллер:
Bryan Fuller about Will Graham and Asperger's syndromeBryan Fuller: The thing that I found very interesting, was the- he has the line in there about Asperger's where he says he's on the spectrum, but then that all of a sudden became "Oh, he's got Asperger's". And I was like "Well, no, he doesn't, he actually has the opposite of that".
Ryan Turek: I ran in to somebody the other day and she was like "Oh, that's that show where the guy has Asperger's, and he's working with Hannibal." I was like, "No, he doesn't really..." "But there's that line!" "You took it out of context."
Bryan Fuller: Yeah, that has come up so much, and it's interesting because he's got an empathy disorder, and Asperger's is you don't have- You can't read social cues. He has an empathy disorder where he reads too much and it overwhelms him. So it's kind of an interesting place to put the audience in. We're bombarding them with all this violent imagery that the character is bombarded with. But it's interesting what comes up in public perception. I've heard that a lot, that we're doing doing a show about a guy with Asperger's. We're like "No, he doesn't have Asperger's".
Ryan Turek: Set the record straight: Will Graham does not have Asperger's.
Bryan Fuller: He does not.

очему Уилл, при его способности не видит в Ганнибале убийцу (там упоминается, что олень которого он видит - как раз сигнал мозга, связывающий оленя из кабинета Лектера - как я и говорила). Девушка, которая это разбирает - психолог.
The Logic of Will Not Seeing Hannibal the Cannibalчитать дальшеI’ve been reading some posts about people wondering how on earth Will, being such a good empath and all, cannot twig that Hannibal is completely crazy. Especially considering their last conversation in “Amuse-Bouche.”
For me, this is the least “What the hell?” element of the series but I may have a skewed perception because of my own current training as a therapist of the psychodynamic orientation. Below the cut is my long, boring explanation of how I view it.
Based on Hannibal having a Psy.D, I’m going to assume that he’s also well up on the psychodynamic orientation with regard to therapeutic treatment. So my main understanding of how he’s going to keep Will in the dark is that he’s going to completely manipulate the transference.
We all have transference toward people in our lives but it tends to get cranked up for some people when they develop it with their therapist. I’ve always been amazed at how some of my most well-functioning patients end up having off the wall fantasies about me and my role in their lives and how much their behavior toward me is dictated by these fantasies rather than fact. This isn’t to say they’re becoming psychotic, but highlights the power of transference in a patient-therapist relationship. The same can be said for countertransference.
Will Graham, for all his talents, is not in a terribly good place mentally. It’s clear from even a couple of sessions with Hannibal that he’s starting to trust him and Hannibal has set it up so that Will is starting to feel comfortable in sharing things and using Hannibal as his therapist (his “paddle”) which is ideal in a therapeutic alliance. If only the alliance in this case wasn’t with a complete psycho.
I can totally see how Will could end up placing his own needs of Hannibal as a therapist above the needs of say, reality. Even if his empathy skills start telling him that something’s off about his therapist, Will very likely will just shush it and flat out ignore it unconsciously. His unconscious, meanwhile, might be screaming at him that something is wrong (e.g. that ominous deer dream he keeps having that may be linking him to the deer statue in Hannibal’s office).
In short, Hannibal is a master at manipulating people and having Will as a patient just ups the situation in terms of how easily Will can probably be manipulated despite his heightened abilities at getting into people’s heads. If he ends up needing Hannibal as a therapist, he won’t want to get into his head. At all. Something which I’m sure Hannibal will use to his advantage.
It just becomes a question of when that’ll wear off.
